2023 Rebuilding Smiles 5K Charity Run

2023 Rebuilding Smiles 5K Charity Run

Tuesday, 26th September from 6:00am – 8:00am.

Raise Money for the Australian Dental Health Foundation.

The Australian Dental Health Foundation (Foundation) is a registered charity dedicated to coordinating dental treatment for disadvantaged Australians who are genuinely in need of dental care through one of three programs. By participating in the “Rebuilding Smiles” charity run you get to experience the scenic beauty of Sydney Harbour foreshores during the run knowing that you are supporting the Foundations mission to improve their client’s dental health, speech, presentation and self-esteem and helps those treated to move forward and achieve their goals. It’s an exciting opportunity to enjoy yourself while making a meaningful impact on a worthy cause!

For a small donation starting from only $25, you can run as an individual or come as a team! Pick a cool or funny team name like Sugar Snatchers, Smiley Sprinters, Tooth Titans, Root Canal Runners, Laughing Gas Club, etc. Make sure all your team members know the name and spell it correctly in the ‘team name field’ during registration. The name will then be printed on your bib! All proceeds will be donated to the Rebuilding Smiles program to assist those affected by domestic or family violence who are in need of dental assistance.

Rebuilding Smiles®

The Rebuilding Smiles program focuses on the provision of dental services to people who have experienced domestic and family violence and who may have immediate dental trauma or ongoing oral health problems related to a lack of dental treatment over time.

Will the Charity run be COVID-19 Safe?

We will work with the Australian Government on our COVID safe strategy for the event. However, no matter what precautions we take, not everyone can or should join us. We want our community to be safe, which means taking advice from your medical advisors, especially if you are vulnerable, which may mean avoiding large gatherings like the Charity run.

What Happens if the Charity Run is cancelled?

If the event is cancelled for safety concerns or otherwise as a result of something beyond the reasonable control of FDIWDC23 including without limitation: strong winds, heavy rain lightning and accidents, you will be notified by SMS. We ask that any participants who would like to run in the Elite Runners’ category be confident that they can run 5kms in under 15-20 minutes. Please self-seed, accordingly, with the knowledge that the “slower” runners are finishing in around the 30 – 40 minutes range.

Can I run with headphones and listen to music?

The event organisers discourage the use of headphones, iPods or other personal music as they can impede an individual’s ability to hear marshals or other course officials. Participants who choose to wear headphones on the course do so at their own risk and are asked to pay attention to officials and other participants throughout their event.
